Bethany Nakoi

 

Bethany was first introduced to doTERRA by an acquaintance over Facebook, who had seen a post about baby Rose and sent her a bottle of Frankincense oil. At the time she was so incredibly distraught and her focus was on coping and trying to get through the daily struggles their family now faced. She didn’t even give the essential oils a second thought. The bottle stayed put in her cupboard for years, unopened. 

 

Her daughter survived and grew, however, Rose developed extreme anxious feelings that caused her to self-harm at age 4. “The doctor recommended we start her on medication to help her relax, however, it had extreme side effects and I remember crying as I was driving home with script in my hand only wishing I had more options. It was then I remembered that bottle of Frankincense in the cupboard. I went home, opened the bottle and Rose smelt the essential oil. Within moments she seemed peaceful and relaxed. I was amazed at the positive affect that Frankincense had on Rose and I was instantly hooked!”

 

Soon after Bethany enroled with doTERRA as a Wellness Advocate and within a month made the decision to teach an  essential oil class  to parent’s with special needs children. She didn’t own many oils at the time, but she threw herself into studying the oils and watched numerous amounts of online training videos. In the first class she enroled 5 people and it was the beginning of a new journey with doTERRA essential oils. 

 

The world of ‘wellbeing and alternative supports’ was so foreign to Bethany before doTERRA. Since being introduced to doTERRA essential oils she is a firsthand believer and an advocate now. Her biggest insight into learning the products power was witnessing the speed at which the oils worked. “It amazes every time. My family’s (journey) was completely changed. For many of us with special needs children, we feel we have exhausted all of our options but doTERRA showed me that I had completely ignored one of my greatest advocates- (essential oils)!”

 

As her business continued to grow and develop organically, there were four things that Bethany attributed as being the key to helping her achieve the Rank of Gold. “The relationships I developed with my customers and team builders are an integral part of my business. I truly care for them and this is why I pour my heart into educating them on the products and the business opportunities. The support of my husband who watched our 4 children whilst I taught classes, he gave up so much for me and I could not have experienced this journey without him. The support from my up line and my mentor Mish Pope, she taught me about business and boundaries. I believe it is important to enjoy the journey & have fun if you want to see long term success in dōTERRA. As long as you keep going you will reach your goals, just don’t give up - a step forward no matter how small is still a step. Do the work, keep putting in the hours, and know you are making a difference! This is what keeps me going and I believe it is the absolute key to building a successful doTERRA business.”

A few key insights that Bethany offers to other Wellness Advocates starting out is that nothing changes, if nothing changes. “You need to work if you want to see the results. That work can come in many shapes and forms, classes, online posting and self-development courses.” 

 

She advises to really get to know the compensation plan, exactly how it works and know your placements and business structure. 

“Find people who build and place differently to you and ask them why! Be open minded to different views or ways of running your doTERRA Business. The second you think you know it all you are limiting your growth. Find a mentor who is successful and has high moral standards, who will correct you when you are wrong and encourage you when you are right. Always remember your WHY and keep it in your sight”.

 

Through the journey of wellness, Bethany has learned to listen to her body and mind and provide and support herself with what she needs. “This is a marathon not a sprint, so I make sure to enjoy and prepare for the ride. I run and go hard when I need to and rest deeply when I feel I need to rest.” 

 

On a daily basis Bethany has created her own doTERRA rituals with her favourite products. She uses the support of LLV every day and feels it has completely changed her health! Smart and Sassy are her go to capsules every morning with breakfast. The most influential oil that provided support to Bethany is Console. “I use console every morning and every night and depend on it greatly to support me. Life can be brutal and hard and this oil has seen me through some very difficult times in my life”.
