Origin: a Latin derivative
meaning "Gift of the Earth."
Meeting up may be hard in 2020 but that should not stop us from sending our love to our family. Here are some tips to let your family know that you care this holiday season.
Sending the Scented of Love
We may have thought that snail mail is a long-expired trend, but with the new normal up and running, a scented card with your love may be a great gift for that love one you have been unable to meet.
Ingredients:
Cotton balls
Plastic or paper bag
Your favorite essential oil
Instructions:
Put 2-4 drops essential oil on cotton ball. We suggest Douglas Fir, Frankincense, Wild Orange, Cinnamon Bark, or Holiday Peace.
Place cotton ball inside bag with cards.
Seal bag and let sit overnight.
Ornament Gift Tags
You may not be bringing your gift by hand to your loved one this year. Let them know that you care with a little homemade ornament to show your love and share your holiday joy.
Ingredients
4 cups all-purpose flour
1 cup salt
1 ½ cups warm water
Favorite doTERRA essential oils
Instructions
Preheat the oven to 325°F.
Pour flour, salt, and warm water into large bowl.
Using your hands, knead until all ingredients are well-incorporated and dough is smooth.
If mixture is too dry, add one tablespoon of water at a time until dough comes together.
Roll out dough on floured surface until ¼ inch thick.
Using cookie cutters, cut out desired shapes and place on cookie sheet lined with parchment paper.
Using a drinking straw or toothpick, make a hole in top of ornament for threading string.
Place in oven until hard, approximately one hour.
Once hard, remove from oven and cool.
Decorate with paint, string, or glitter. Add essential oils by placing one drop on each ornament and allow it to soak in.
Tip: Add some decoration to your ornaments by stamping them. Just place stamp on ink and carefully place on ornament to transfer design before they dry.
